Frequently asked questions

Do I need internet to use it?

No. The application works completely offline — scanning, testing, and PDF generation. Internet is only needed at first launch (downloading a supporting browser for some NVR APIs) and for firmware database auto-sync once every 24 hours.

Does any client data leave my device?

No. CamVerifier runs locally on your computer, scans your network, and results and snapshots stay exclusively with you. BySec, s.r.o. has no access to the data. The application complies with GDPR principles — we are not a processor of your client data.

Will it work with my cameras?

If you have IP cameras with ONVIF support, Hikvision (ISAPI), Dahua (CGI), BYSEC™, or Milesight — yes. Most modern IP cameras from 2018 onward are compatible. The trial version verifies it for you in 5 minutes, with no commitment.

How do I get the license key?

After payment, you'll automatically receive an email with the license key and download links. Activation in the app is via License tab → Activate offline. Takes 30 seconds.

What is white-label in the Max tier?

In the Max tier, you replace BYSEC™ branding in the PDF report with your own company name. The client sees your report — you simply add value with your own brand. Suitable for installers, integrators, and IT firms that don't want to promote a third party in front of their client.

How long is the license life-cycle?

The license is valid for all 1.x versions — for life, with no additional fees. Only version 2.0 (planned for 2027+) will require a license upgrade. Auto-update always informs you of a new version and downloads it for you.
